This will be the last picture unless we get one in the morning as Kwik Silver rolls out, It's been a wonderful couple of weeks, and the trip home with Skid and Sandy has been a real treat. Between Sag and the Canadians, I had great riding partners for this little trip. VROC, Oregon and VROC, Ontario. That's enough to boggle the law enforcement! (or the motels) Thanks for watching the blogs for the RRR. I'll be starting another one when I leave for HSVROC at Lake Topaz, NV the end of July.

This has been a perfect riding day, temps in the 70's, little wind, and beautiful scenery. We're on the way to spend the night in Reno at the Atlantis Casino.

This was a rig parked by the "Shoe Tree". The Cricket residue was about a half inch thick on the trailer. The steps were also just covered. They had been just in front of us. We went through and area that was so full of the crickets they had snow plows out getting them off the road. They are very slick to ride on, and make popping noises when you run over them.

The guy that is cleaning out the building wants to trade it for a new roof on the local Historical Society Building, It needs one, and would cost about $3500. We sure had a good time poking around in here!

We were in an old building that was being cleaned out. The owner died recently, both his sons has already passed away, so the county got the building. They had just had an estate sale last weekend. This old stove used to be in a railroad office. We got acquainted with the older man that was hired by the county to clean to place up, he took us through the building showed us a lot of interesting things. Skid stayed outside and visited with some guy he met. So between all of us, we learned a lot of history.

This car from Colorada had just hit a deer. We had passed the deer on the side of the road just a couple of miles from here. They were taping up the windshield on the inside to keep the glass from falling out, and were going to head back to their home in Colorado. What a mess!

The road is covered with "Morman Crickets". They were all over the town of Austin, and were so bad on the road that they had snow plows out scraping them off the Highway. We had about a 10 mile stretch that was very slick and smelly. I didn't take any pictures where they were very deep, needed both hands and eyes just to keep upright. I tried to talk Skid and Sandy into getting off and standing in them for a picture, but they weren't buying it!

This is the last picture of the day. These are all VROC bikes in front of the Hotel. The Wings and Steves bike are in the parking lot because of the trailers. It's getting late, ate too much. Time to jump in the rain locker and it the hay.

Lass, Sag, Sandy, Krazbob, Skid, Barb, and Terry. They gave us our own room in the Hotel Nevada. They have stars in the sidewalk for some of the famous people and actors that have performed or stayed here. The names are also above the rooms they stayed in. Very old, but classy place. The food is reasonable and plentyfull. A huge serving of prime rib with all the soup you want, a good salad bar and all the trimmings for $8.95. The dinner Sag and I had came with a "bucket of beer", which we gave away, which didn't disappoint Krazbob.

Sandy and her Indian friend. The last couple of times I've been here, there were many bikes in the main casino. There are still several, but they have replaced a lot of them with more machines. I'm sure they were on donation, so maybe the owners picked them up. This perfectly restored 1948 Indian Chief is one of the nicest here (in my opinion).

You receive some gaming coupons and a free Margarita when you check in. If you're on a bike, you get a discount. Our room for 2, including all taxes, totaled $39. Not bad. They have a generous $1.99 breakfast too!

This is our home for the night. This Hotel/Casino has been in busines here since 1929. It was the tallest structure and the first fireproof building in the State of Nevada. It was the center of all political and social activity of Nevada. Today it is well established as the entertainment capital of the White Pine Country, having the only live gaming between Elko and Las Vegas. The rooms are all up-dated, and comfortable.
